Description
Composition, appearance and properties
Urea is carbonic acid diamide – CO(NH2). It is a neutral organic compound with a high nitrogen content (more than 45% N) in the amide form. It is produced by synthesis from ammonia and carbon dioxide. Granulated urea is white granules, easily soluble in water. Urea is surface treated against caking.
Technical parameters
Urea meets the following requirements
Total nitrogen in the original sample in % min. 45.5%
Biuret content in % max. 1.0%
Content of 0.5 to 2.5 mm in % min. 90.0%
Free flowing in % min. 96.0%
Application
Urea is used as a nitrogen fertilizer with a slowly acting form of nitrogen for basic fertilization, i.e. before sowing, or we fertilize with it during the vegetation period. Wherever DAM is not available, a urea solution can be used for foliar fertilization.
